Who We Are
FOUNDER
Rocky Marrin
Rocky Marrin is a Richmond, Virginia native. For almost 40 years he has held various roles in sales and marketing. He helped launch the cellular telephone and DSL industries in Richmond, Tidewater, and Roanoke. After participating as a shareholder in various start-ups and owning his own companies, Rocky now enjoys working in retail and is now also answering his call to ministry. He is a former chaplain of United Methodist Men at Shady Grove UMC, past chair of the Staff Parish Committee, and has regularly delivered sermons at Shady Grove UMC.
In February 2010, Rocky founded 3Wide Ministries, an interdenominational men’s ministry that encourages men to make better decisions and live with fewer regrets. Each week, he leads or participates in small group studies that share the Word and personal stories, as well as enables men to keep each other strong and on the right track. He frequently shares his testimony with groups of any size and has also led several youth mission trips. He has earned a certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling through VIP Care.
Rocky and his wife, Leslie, have a marriage ministry called Marriage Matters, where they are certified coaches through a program called Prepare – Enrich, Building Strong Marriages. They attend HOPE Church in Richmond, where Rocky is an Ordained Deacon. Rocky was also Ordained as a Minister in March 2023 through Faith & Family Church and as of September 2023 is part of the inaugural Goochland Sheriff’s Department Chaplaincy team. Leslie and Rocky have a blended family with 5 adult children, 3 sons-in-law, two grandsons and two more grandchildren on the way!

Buddy Childress
Buddy Childress joined 3Wide Ministries in January of 2023 as Marketplace Minister & Mentor after serving for 44 years as Founder and Executive Director of Needle’s Eye Ministries. He is also the Founder of The Christian Counseling and Training Center, as well as The CrossOver Health Clinic.
Buddy is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Buddy and his wife Laura have four grown children and ten grandchildren.

Ralph Costen
Ralph L. Costen, Jr., VMI ‘70, is CEO of Costen Floors, Inc., located in Richmond, Virginia. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as an XO of an overseas replacement station. He is a member of the VMI Institute Society, the Keydet Club Flying Squadron, past-president of the VMI Alumni Richmond Chapter, past-president of the Keydet Club, and served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Ralph currently serves on the Keydet Club Board of Governors and the Keydet Club Executive Committee as Historian.
Ralph is active in several civic and charitable organizations in the Richmond area. He is one of the top fundraisers in The American Heart Association and a member of the Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR) where he has earned numerous awards. Ralph is a founding member and past officer of the National Wood Flooring Association and is active in other industry associations.
Ralph and his wife, Marsha, have been married since 1970. They have one son and a daughter-in-law, and are the proud grandparents of a grandson and granddaughter. The Costens are active members of Second Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia.
